Curriculum Drive for Homeschool Families Affected by Hurricane Helene

It is our heart’s desire to ease the burden of homeschooling families affected by Hurricane Helene by collecting new and gently used homeschool curriculum and classic children’s books.

WHAT WILL YOU ACCEPT?

      • Homeschool curriculum – all grades/methods/companies

            • All curriculum needs to be complete. Please do not send a set that is missing workbooks and pages. If any pages are used in a workbook it needs to be less than 10% of the total workbook. Please mark out all personal information in books.

            • Older editions of texts/books are acceptable, assuming they are complete and in good condition

            • No teacher’s manuals without a student manual.

            • No curriculum that requires a DVD/CD. We desire this to be open and go for families and not require any other equipment and materials.

            • A student text without a teacher’s manual/book is acceptable.

            • Non-fiction science books

            • New/Like new lined notebooks and writing utensils, pencils, markers and handheld pencil sharpeners.

          • Classic toddler/preschool/children/teen books and novels

                • Outside of early readers, please only send classic books that would appeal to a wide range of families. We reserve the right to pull any books that we deem are not suitable for any reason. We hope that many of the books that we send will be used as family read alouds and we want to honor other families’ standards and experiences with what we send.

                • PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT ALL BOOKS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. No missing pages, broken spines, or torn covers.

              • Gently used/like new Bible -Clean copies only, please! No writing or highlighting inside the Bible.

            WHAT WILL YOU NOT ACCEPT?

                • No games. Due the cost of mailing and sheer amount of books we expect to receive, we cannot accept any games, even educational at this time.

                • No adult books. If this isn’t a book you would use at a family read aloud, please do not send it.

                • No books/materials from a smoking home.

HOW WILL YOU FIND THE FAMILIES THAT NEED THESE RESOURCES?

We have a few personal connections to families and churches in Western NC that we would like to partner with. If you know of a family who needs our help, please send them our way! It is our desire that we can put together individual boxes for families as much as possible.
