“Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.” (Colossians 3:18-21 ESV)
The Bible gives us a clear picture of what a Godly family looks like.
A family that loves each other and glorifies God.
In a Godly family the wife will respect and submit to the leadership of her husband.
The husband will love his wife as Christ loves the church and gave Himself for her. The husband will not be harsh with her, but instead humble humble himself to love and serve her. Even lay down his life for her.
Children will obey their parents. They will do what they are told, when they are told, and with a good attitude.
Fathers will love and encourage their children, not provoke them to anger. They will raise up their children in the nurture and teaching of the Lord.
This can only happen when all seek Christ and put on His love. Love is the uniting bond of peace in the family and in our world.
